Here is some info on what to expect from your appointment with us and a few bits and pieces we know about the curl!
Firstly, in our consultation, we are going to pick your brain… we have heaps of questions to get to the bottom of what you love, what you hate, and everything in between. We want to know everything!!
We will recommend only what will make your life better and we are going to actually teach you how to style that hair of yours!
FYI we will next to never cut your curls wet, we may spritz it with a bit of a water spray, but it’s a very, very rare event that we would shampoo first! This makes it very important you come with your hair in its naturalish state or as you would normally wear it… curly of course!
If you have never had your hair cut dry, you are going to love it! There are no shrinking surprizes at the end, meaning you don’t have to feel nail bitingly anxious!
There is no question that curls need more than a little extra TLC, so we absolutely always, always do a prescription treatment with the exact balance of what your curls need! This includes a delicious 10min scalp massage on our lay down shampoo lounge… these babies heat up and massage your body. Best place on earth!

Fun fact… Most curls lack shine! This is because curls absorb the light instead of reflect it. The lack of shine also makes that friggin frizz look a million times worse!!! We have a secret weapon that will make your hair shine as if it has been blessed by the hair gods… #curlsunderstood
We have a Kick Ass conditioning colour gloss that = Super super super shiny hair! You can flirt with a colour change, add some richness or simply add a clear gloss that wont change your hair colour at all. Takes about 20mins, Costs $119-$179 (Depends on Hair length) lasts up to 30 shampoos! (Depends on shampoo)

CURLS LOVE KERATIN!
Normally keratin treatments are used to “smooth” or “straighten” hair, so we set out to find a way to use the frizz fighting ability without losing the curls and we bloody did it!!
Takes about 1hr, Costs $159-$279 (Depends on Hair length) & lasts up to 3 months (Depends on shampoo)

Even if you’re growing your hair, a micro trim will keep your curls fresh and behaving the way they should!
For amazing results when you visit us for a curly cut, it's best to arrive with your hair out and dried naturally, so we can cut your hair where it 'lives'. It doesn't need to be freshly washed (we'll do that for you after cutting) and a little product is fine, but a ponytail may change your curl pattern a little, changing your results
Curl Commandments …
Thou Shalt NEVER Brush your curls. You can brush your scalp and hair before shampooing, but then you put that brush back in the draw.
Thou Shalt Add Moisture Moisture Moisture! Many people believe frizz is caused by moisture. SO NOT TRUE! Without moisture your hair will go looking for it in other places [i.e. the atmosphere which = frizz!] keep your locks as hydrated as possible and you’ll never have a bad hair day!
Thou Shalt Only ever get your curls cut dry. If someone cuts your hair sopping wet, it’s going to be a disaster.
Thou Shalt use salon professional sulphate free products. Despite the hype around “curly girl” not everything you read is true. Supermarkets sell low quality. It’s a fact.
Thou Shalt Towel squeeze in between shampoo and conditioner. We can recommend products with the exact amount of moisture for your curls however if your hair is saturated, most of the conditioner ends up down the plughole instead of doing its job.
